Here at Greece Travel Secrets we don’t do too many of those ‘Top Ten’ lists you see everywhere, but we have done some. It can be fun, and definitely challenging, if you ask yourself what are the ten best places to visit in the whole of Greece, or what are the ten best archaeological sites in the Peloponnese?
The Best Greek Beaches
We haven’t been to every beach in Greece (we wish!), but we did have a go at listing six of our own personal favourite beaches on one of our pages. That’s one of them in the picture above. You’ll have to read the story to find out where it is!

Top Archaeological Sites in the Peloponnese
The Peloponnese is particularly rich in archaeological sites, one of which is pictured above. To find out where it is, and what the other amazing sites are, click here.
Ten Best Places to Visit in Greece
The ultimate list. What are the ten best places to visit in the whole of Greece? Athens is obviously Number One, but where else? OK, so we cheated a bit and included Crete as one of the ten best when there’s so much on Crete to see, like Knossos and the Samaria Gorge, that it deserves a Ten Best list of its own.
We’ll never forget hiking the Samaria Gorge. Tiring but amazing, and a day we’ll remember for the rest of our lives. Here’s one photo from that incredible hike that Mike took. The horses were overtaking us, by the way!
Just as an aside, the Samaria Gorge is often described as the longest gorge in Europe. It isn’t. There are others that are longer. But it is the longest gorge in Greece, the second-longest being the Vikos Gorge in the Pindus Mountains.
And that’s it for this newsletter. Thank you for subscribing and if you know anyone else who might be interested, do forward this to them.
